Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has finally given permission for developing the affordable rental housing complexes under the ambit its Master Plan of Delhi (MPD) 2021.
As per the issued statement, DDA believes that this proposal will pave the way for the development of Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs) on land owned by government agencies as well as privately owned land. The proposal also allows developers to utilise DDA auctioned plots for the development of Affordable Rental Housing Complexes, which will create vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive affordable rental housing avenues for the urban migrants and the urban poor.
This decision was made at a meeting presided over by Anil Baijal, Lt. Governor, and chairman of DDA. The people who attended the board meeting, also included leading names like Anurag Jain, Vice Chairman, DDA and various other members of the authority including MLAs Vijender Gupta, Somnath Bharti, O P Sharma, among others.
A Public Notice was also issued post the meeting, for inviting objections and suggestions over the final decision. All suggestions and objections once received will be presented before the Board of Enquiry and Hearing for addressal and discussion.
