The town planning department of South Delhi which regulates sanctioning of layout plans has made it mandatory for the applicants to submit their application through online mode. They have created a model which will accept all applications online. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) further informed that this model for sanctioning building plans will be applicable for all three civic bodies.
The plan, which has been developed under the ‘ease of doing business’ rules is designed to streamline the whole system. It will also add to the transparency and ease, as applicants will now be able to fill applications online without the interference of office staff.
The department plans to sanction layout plans through their official website. The applicants will need to submit a soft copy of the layout plan along with the requisite documentation, the SDMC officials will ensure to take care of the approvals in a time bound manner.
An SDMC statement says that “We have developed the system under ‘ease of doing business’ initiatives. It will reduce manual interference as the applicants will get their layout plans sanctioned without visiting offices.”
The applicants won’t be allowed to submit physical documents any longer. Only files with zero error will be accepted for online submission. Even approvals of the layouts will be done online.
Any feedback and suggestion can be mailed to the town planning committee. Also, the user manual has been uploaded on the official website for providing guidance to civic officials and town planners.
